**EL CÓNDOR ANDINO ES UN AVE LONGEVA PUEDE LLEGAR A VIVIR MÁS DE 70 AÑOS FORMA PAREJA DE POR VIDA**

El **"CÓNDOR ANDINO (Vultur gryphus)"**, pertenece a la familia: Cathartidae y al orden de los Falconiformes, en general es de Coloración negro. El macho tiene su cabeza y parte desnuda del cuello de un tono rosado amarillento, luce una gran cresta carnosa sobre la base del pico y un pellejo colgante a modo de papada; en la base del cuello se destaca un collar de plumón blanco; Parche blanco en la parte dorsal media del ala; Iris pardo amarillento.

**La hembra:**es un poco más chica que el macho; iris rojo. Los juveniles son totalmente pardos. // Es el ave símbolo de la Cordillera de los Andes, de las voladoras más grandes del planeta y longevas, pueden vivir más de 70 años y forman pareja de por vida. Es básicamente carroñera, sus patas se asemejan a la de las gallinas.

- **Alimentación: Animales muertos (Vacas, caballos, guanacos, castores y ovejas), preferentemente en estado de descomposición, come en el lugar.**
- **Nido: En cuevas o cavernas de paredones rocosos algo profundos y a mucha altura de difícil acceso.**
- **Hábitat: Cerros altos, pero es más fácil verlo en la precordillera.**
- **Distribución: Toda la cordillera de los Andes. /Residente permanente.**

**"ANDEAN CONDOR (Vultur gryphus)"** - Generalities: Colouring in general in black.
